West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Redevelopment

A state-of-the-art hospital redevelopment featuring upgraded mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems designed to support reliable, patient-centered healthcare across West Niagara.

Project Description

The West Lincoln Memorial Hospital (WLMH) Redevelopment Project is a major healthcare infrastructure investment by Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation, serving the communities of West Niagara within the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant (HNHB) LHIN. The project is being delivered by EllisDon as the general contractor, with J.M.R. Electric Ltd. proudly responsible for both the mechanical and electrical scopes of work.

The new hospital will replace the aging facility with a modern, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare environment spanning approximately 116,142 sq. ft. (CGSF). Designed to provide comprehensive care close to home, the redevelopment includes:

  • Inpatient Unit: Five beds supporting medical, complex continuing care, and maternal services, ensuring patients receive high-quality care in a comfortable, healing environment.
  • Maternal and Newborn Program: Five labour, birthing, and recovery suites, plus two mother-baby couplet rooms for family-centered maternity care.
  • Modernized Diagnostic and Treatment Areas: Designed to accommodate advanced medical technology and provide improved patient flow and accessibility.
  • Ambulatory Care and Support Services: Outpatient clinics, procedural rooms, and essential clinical support areas to serve the growing population of West Niagara.
  • Sustainable Design: The facility is being constructed to meet current healthcare standards and energy-efficiency targets, with a focus on operational reliability and patient well-being.

Once complete, the new West Lincoln Memorial Hospital will provide a state-of-the-art healthcare environment that strengthens local access to care, enhances patient experience, and supports the long-term health of the West Niagara community.
